FAQs
What is XPS insulation?
XPS insulation, short for extruded polystyrene insulation, is crafted using an extrusion technique, resulting in a closed-cell rigid insulation material. This inherent closed-cell structure imparts essential compressive strength, rendering it an ideal choice for specialized applications like heavy-duty flooring, car park decks, and inverted roofs.
What is the U-value of Kingspan insulation?
U-value is the inverse of the sum of the thermal resistances of the layers that make up an entire building element – for example, a roof, wall or floor. The lower the U-value, the better insulated the building element. It also includes adjustments for any fixings or air gaps. Therefore, our insulation doesn't have a U-value on its own.
Our technical team can complete a U-value calculation for your project if you have a few specific details you can share about it. Just follow the link at the bottom of the page.
