Installation notes (worth knowing early)

For best performance, fascia brackets should be installed:

  • At a maximum of 750mm centres
  • No further than 375mm from a joint
  • With additional brackets positioned near joints and fittings

The gutters are supplied pre-drilled at 750mm centres, which speeds up installation and helps keep bracket spacing consistent. Rafter brackets and rise-and-fall brackets are also available for projects where fascia fixing isn’t suitable.

Accessories, options & flexibility

This system is supported by a full range of accessories, including:

  • Angles, outlets, and stop ends
  • Fascia, rafter, and rise-and-fall brackets
  • True and facetted radius gutters for curved elevations

The fully bespoke manufacturing process also allows for alternative sizes, profiles, and capacities where standard dimensions aren’t quite right. That flexibility is particularly useful on refurbishment projects or heritage buildings where constraints are rarely textbook.

Where aluminium box guttering fits best

Aluminium box guttering is ideal for:

  • Contemporary new builds
  • Commercial and mixed-use projects
  • Sensitive refurbishments needing a restrained profile
  • Heritage schemes where a heritage aluminium box gutter offers a cleaner alternative to decorative systems

Often specified alongside other aluminium rainwater products, it sits comfortably within wider ranges that include moulded ogee profiles and modern systems — depending on how architectural you want the final result to feel.

Aluminium Box Guttering FAQs

1. What is aluminium box guttering best used for?

Aluminium box guttering is best suited to modern buildings, commercial projects, and refurbishments where a clean, architectural finish is preferred.

Its straight edges and concealed joints make it popular on contemporary homes, but it’s also used as a heritage aluminium box gutter on older buildings where a low-profile, unobtrusive system is required.

2. How much does aluminium box guttering cost?

Aluminium box guttering prices depend on gutter size, finish, and the number of accessories required. While aluminium costs more upfront than plastic systems, it offers far greater longevity, lower maintenance, and a higher-quality finish.

Over time, many customers find aluminium to be the more economical option.

3. Is Alumasc box guttering available for fast delivery?

Yes. Alumasc box gutter systems in Black and Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016) are available with next working day delivery when ordered before 11:30am.

Other standard colours and bespoke RAL or BS finishes are typically supplied within 10 working days.

4. What size is standard aluminium box guttering?

The standard size supplied is 125 x 100mm, offering excellent flow capacity for residential and commercial roofs.

This size works well for larger roof areas without appearing bulky, and bespoke sizes or alternative capacities can be manufactured where required.

5. How is aluminium box guttering fixed and installed?

Aluminium box guttering uses fascia brackets spaced at a maximum of 750mm centres, with brackets positioned no more than 375mm from a joint and additional support near outlets and fittings.

The system features an internal fixed joggle joint, making installation simpler and cleaner than floating joint methods.

6. What accessories are available with aluminium box guttering?

A full range of accessories is available, including angles, outlets, stop ends, fascia brackets, rafter brackets, and rise-and-fall brackets.

True and facetted radius gutters are also available for curved elevations, allowing the system to be adapted to complex designs.

7. Is aluminium box guttering environmentally friendly?

Yes. Aluminium box guttering is manufactured from 100% recyclable aluminium and finished with durable powder coatings to extend its lifespan. Its long service life and low maintenance requirements make it a more sustainable choice compared with short-life guttering materials.
