Novia VC8 Reflective is an advanced membrane designed to function as a reflective and airtight vapour check and convection barrier for insulated structures such as walls, roofs, and floors in timber-framed dwellings. Unlike traditional vapour barriers with excessively high vapour resistance, Novia VC8 provides optimal vapour control while maintaining the breathability of the structure.
With an Sd value of 8m, this membrane effectively regulates moisture diffusion, preventing unwanted condensation and improving indoor air quality. Its high reflectivity (84%) further enhances energy efficiency, making it a superior choice for modern construction.

This product is CE Approved and CPR-compliant, meeting EN 13984 standards for vapour control layers. It helps improve insulation performance, prevents interstitial condensation, and reduces air leakage, ensuring a more energy-efficient and durable building envelope.
Installation
To achieve the best performance, install the membrane on the interior (warm side) of walls, roofs, or insulated frames, while using Novia external breather membranes on the exterior (cold side). A two-tape sealing system is recommended for proper installation.
- Use double-sided butyl tape for sealing overlaps, ensuring a continuous barrier.
- Apply foil or BOPP lap tape to reinforce seams and enhance airtightness.
- Novia recommends using 30mm wide butyl tape and 60mm metallised BOPP tape for standard installations.
Incorrect installation or improper tape usage can lead to condensation problems and reduced effectiveness, so proper sealing is essential.

For complete system integrity, Novia VC8 should be used alongside Novia breather membranes and Novia compatible sealing tapes, ensuring long-term airtightness and vapour resistance.
