A Tough, Corrosion-Resistant Colour Coating

One of our favourite features of this German-engineered system is its durable, three-layer protective finish. Rather than relying on an ordinary coat of paint, the steel benefits from:

• Zinc-magnesium protection – Helps protect the underlying steel against corrosion.
• Protective primer – Provides an additional barrier and helps bond the outer coating.
• Robust polyester colour coating – Creates the tough, textured anthracite finish, with excellent resistance to scratching and UV exposure.

The Zambelli Robust coating has been tested to a scratch resistance of at least 30N and carries a UV resistance classification of RUV4.

This makes it a particularly good choice for exposed rooflines, where the gutters will face years of rain, sunlight and changing temperatures.

And unlike painted metal systems that require frequent attention, the factory-applied finish is designed to keep maintenance relatively simple. Occasional cleaning and inspections are still recommended.

Dry-Jointed Gutters – No Silicone Required

Nobody wants to spend longer than necessary fitting guttering, especially when working at roof level. Fortunately, the dry-jointed design makes assembling the system refreshingly straightforward. The gutter lengths connect using matching union connectors with built-in seals, removing the need to apply silicone sealant at the joints. Better still, the system includes precision-manufactured fittings designed to work together, helping you achieve a neat, consistent finish across the roofline.

The compatible steel downpipes also feature swaged ends, allowing sections to push together without needing a separate loose connector at every full-length joint.

Is anthracite steel guttering better than plastic?

Steel guttering offers greater rigidity and a different finish from standard uPVC systems. It's particularly attractive if you want a premium metal appearance and a durable, colour-coated rainwater system. Plastic remains a more economical option for many domestic installations.

Do steel gutter joints need silicone?

No. The matching dry-jointed gutter unions use built-in seals, so you don't need to apply silicone to those connections. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions for the other fittings in the system.

Is the anthracite grey finish RAL 7016?

Yes. Our colour-coated range is supplied in RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey, making it a great match for many contemporary windows, doors and roofline products. Slight variations in texture and sheen can occur between materials and manufacturers.
