The Freefoam 225mm uPVC Fascia Capping Board is designed for refurbishing wider rooflines where the existing timber fascia is still sound and suitable to remain in place. At 10mm thick, it is a dedicated cover board that fits over the existing fascia, giving the roof edge a fresh, low-maintenance uPVC finish without carrying out a full structural fascia replacement.
The wider 225mm face makes this size particularly useful on deeper eaves and larger fascia runs where 150mm, 175mm or 200mm boards do not provide enough coverage. Supplied in 5 metre lengths, it also helps keep joints to a minimum across longer elevations.

When Is a 225mm Cover Board the Right Size?
A 225mm fascia cover board is useful where the existing timber fascia is deeper than standard domestic sizes. The additional width gives you more coverage without having to join narrower boards together or leave part of the old fascia exposed.
Before ordering, measure the full face depth that needs covering and check how the fascia meets the soffit, gutter line and any corners or joints. Choosing the correct width at the start usually gives a much cleaner finished result.

If the existing timber is rotten, badly split, loose or structurally unsound, it should not simply be hidden behind a new cover board. The underlying fascia should be repaired or replaced before the roofline is finished.

Important Installation Advice
The existing timber fascia or backing board must be sound, secure and suitable to receive the new cover board. The 10mm uPVC board itself should not be relied upon as the structural support for the guttering.
Where gutter brackets are fitted, the fixings should pass through the uPVC cover board and secure into the supporting timber behind. It is also worth checking the condition of the soffit and any required eaves ventilation while the fascia is being refurbished.
