Description
Iroko is widely regarded as one of the most premium hardwoods for exterior cladding, known for its rich colour, natural oils and impressive strength. Grown in West and Central Africa, Iroko has long been used in high-end construction, boat building and luxury joinery, earning its reputation as a timber that performs in harsh outdoor environments while aging beautifully over time. It’s often called “African Teak” due to its similar characteristics and long service life.
Our 94mm x 14mm Iroko Tongue and Groove cladding boards offer a sleeker, lighter profile that’s perfect for refined, modern cladding projects. This slimmer board size is ideal where a more delicate, detailed finish is desired, without compromising strength or stability.
The tongue and groove profile creates a clean, interlocking joint that delivers a smooth, seamless surface with excellent protection against wind and rain. These boards are a popular choice for garden rooms, summerhouses, exterior feature walls, sheds and modern façades.
When freshly installed, Iroko displays stunning golden to medium brown tones, which naturally mellow into a soft silver-grey patina if left untreated. To retain the warm colour and slow down the weathering process, we recommend applying a quality wood oil or OSMO stain, which also helps protect the surface from UV exposure, moisture and cracking.
If you’re looking for a cladding option that feels genuinely premium, refined and built to last, Iroko is hard to beat.

With correct installation and maintenance, Iroko cladding can last 50–60+ years.
5. What fixings should I use?
Always use stainless steel nails or screws to prevent corrosion and staining.
