How to Measure Lindab Guttering

Matching existing guttering might seem challenging, but it’s easier than you think! We are a leading supplier of Lindab guttering in the UK, and can deliver it quickly.

In the first instance, we do recommend having a read through Lindab's rainwater measurement full guide here.

If you're reading this, we assume you’ve identified your guttering as Lindab. Additionally, we assume you can safely and easily access your gutter.

Follow these steps to make an informed decision:

  1. Measuring the Gutter: The most common mistake is measuring incorrectly. Guttering should be measured from the back of the gutter to the back of the scroll, not the front. For example, measuring from the back to the front of the scroll can mislead you: a 100mm gutter might appear as 125mm, and a 125mm gutter as 150mm.

  2. Matching the Colour: Lindab gutters come in various colours, with changes over the years. Familiarise yourself with the current range online to identify your colour. Magestic Galvanised is easy to spot due to its dull appearance and oxidation, but can be mistaken for silver metallic, which retains some sparkle when cleaned. Matching other colours can be tricky. For example, Dark Grey (RAL 7043), Anthracite Metallic (RAL 9007), and Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016) can look similar after weathering. Clean off dirt and grime to improve your chances of matching accurately. If unsure, order a sample colour swatch or take a small fitting to your local Lindab stockist for assistance.

  3. Sizing Your Downpipe: There’s no trick here—just measure. The most common sizes are 75mm and 87mm, but Lindab also offers 100mm and 120mm for commercial properties.

By following these steps, you’ll be better equipped to match your existing Lindab guttering accurately.
